Business Preparedness Series: CERT Basics for Businesses Workshop

Launched with the Outsmart Disaster Workshop in April, the Greater Irvine Chamber, in partnership with the City of Irvine, presents the next installment in its Business Preparedness Series: CERT Basics for Businesses Workshop. 

This coordinated series of expert-led workshops is designed to help local businesses proactively prepare for emergencies and disruptions. 

Structured as a cohort-based program, each workshop is offered once per year and designed to build on the others. Together, the sessions provide a comprehensive approach to business preparedness, covering disaster readiness, emergency response, fire safety, and crime prevention. The series is intended to be repeated annually, creating ongoing opportunities for businesses to strengthen their resilience over time. 

While each session delivers standalone value, businesses are encouraged to participate in the full series to maximize impact. A Certificate of Completion will be provided to organizations that complete individual workshops.

Thursday, April 9: Outsmart Disaster Workshop — Presented by CalOSBA 

Thursday, July 16: CERT Basics for Businesses Workshop — Presented by the City of Irvine Office of Emergency Management 

Date TBD: Fire Preparedness for Businesses — Presented by Orange County Fire Authority 

Date TBD: Crime Prevention for Businesses — Presented by Irvine Police Department 

Through this collaborative effort, Irvine’s business community gains practical tools, expert guidance, and actionable strategies to protect employees, safeguard operations, and ensure continuity in the face of unexpected events.
